Coaching Process
IES Coaching offers you a 40 minutes introductory coaching session. This permits you to evaluate our services, competencies and coaching style. The aim is for both parties to assess the compatibility of the coaching partnership and how comfortable you as a client feel on a personal level with the coach. During this session, you will need to ask and answer for yourself the following questions:
Do the competencies and the specialisation of the coach resonate with me?. What issues do I want to resolve in this coaching partnership and is this partnership my key to moving forward and achieve my goals?. Am I committed to succeed and am I ready to translate the required changes into action?.
Details of how the coaching process could possibly be tailored are outlined below, but please bear in mind that we adapt according to the requirements and wishes of our clients:
1) Assessment of the current situation is the preliminary to each coaching session. We first undertake an analysis of the current situation to ensure that the coach clearly understands your requirements. During these exploratory coaching sessions, you may find that your perception of the situation actually differs from “reality”. Through the Socratic questioning technique, the core of the issue is effectively unveiled. This technique by itself stimulates you to re-examine your situation.
2) In a second step we discuss what you really want out of our partnership and how your coach can facilitate the process of change and guide you towards the successful achievement of your goals. Questions you will have to ask for yourself include: What are my aspirations?. What are these based on?. What are the feelings of the other players involved?.
3) In a coaching partnership we will examine the resources and tools you need to achieve your goals and translate your plans into action. These tools are at your disposal to facilitate the change process and turn your vision into reality.
4) Together we will asses the support from your external environment and devise strategies for you to enlist further support from your team and from your environment in general. What additional resources are available?.
5) We will then together tailor a plan for you to achieve your goals and objectives. This also entails a list of actions, deliverables, key success factors and milestones.
6) As a coach I make sure you stay on track and successfully achieve your targets and goals. I guide you through the process and facilitate the transition phase guiding you to effectively develop and use empowerment tools and techniques.
7) Once you have achieved your goals and targets we will jointly develop metrics and evaluation systems for you to measure the impact of the changes and adapt the chosen actions or tactics to achieve the maximum out of your resources and excel in your chosen area or project.
